Retail News: CVS Targets Millennials with Amazon-like Membership

Drugstores like CVS and Walgreens are fighting to stay relevant as more people shop on Amazon. CVS's new membership program, CarePass, is the first initiative that offers free national pharmacy delivery and around-the-clock healthcare access, expressly to make it easier for members to care for themselves and their families.

Results from the CarePass pilot in Boston earlier this year showed 20% of people who enrolled were millennials. “That’s something we wanted,” CVS Pharmacy President Kevin Hourican told CNBC. “Millennials are time-starved, and we want it to be easier to do business with you.”
