Snap Fact: With its New Loyalty Program, Target Tries to Attract Infrequent Shoppers

On October 6, Target’s new loyalty program, Target Circle, replaced Cartwheel, its popular loyalty app. With private label credit cards’ decline in popularity, the big box retailer decided to move away from points-based rewards to offer cash back and early access to the best products and deals instead.

In this new program, Target automatically enrolls customers to the new loyalty program when they create an account on Target.com. The program rewards shoppers with 1% cash back on every Target purchase and will give new customers early access to sales throughout the year.
